The Newberry Oktoberfest is FREE. There is no charge for the live entertainment or the kids' activities!
Parking and Directions
There is plenty of free public parking around the festival area. The City of Newberry is conveniently located 4 miles off I-26 at exit 76, between Columbia and Greenville/Spartanburg. If you want to chart your course, enter this address in your favorite online mapping site: 1109 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Kindertown (Kids Zone)
The Newberry Oktoberfest has plenty for the kids to do. Kindertown will feature kid themed vendors selling toys and more, inflatable bounce houses and slides, train rides, kids craft area, and much more! Kindertown is located in the County Courthouse parking lot and Astwood Park.
Local and visiting restaurants and vendors provide the food in our main food court around Community Hall. Snack vendors can be found near the Ritz Theater on upper Main Street, and in Kindertown. The Newberry Opera House Guild will host the popular Beirgarten in Memorial Park as well.
Artists and Crafters will line Main and Boyce Streets with merchandise to delight shoppers of all ages. Kid Themed vendors can be found in Kindertown. Arts & Crafts and Kindertown Vendor Applications are available now, but space is limited. Oktoberfest will feature a variety of attractions, from live music at our Rocktoberfest Stage, to Liver Nips Cook-Off by the County Chamber of Commerce, and our live Culinary Stage where patrons can learn how to make favorite German dishes at home.
Service dogs are allowed. For the safety of our event patrons we recommend that large dogs not be brought to the event. Due to the high volume of foot traffic we also recommend that small dogs are not brought to the event. We don't want them getting stepped on!There is currently not a ban on bringing dogs. If they are brought they should be leashed and muzzled as necessary, and owners are responsible for cleaning up dog waste.
Special Traffic Information
Due to the large number of vendors and event patrons street closures are necessary on October 4th from the hours of 4am until 6pm. Main Street will be closed between Holman and Nance Streets. College Street will be closed between Friend and Boyce Streets. Boyce Street will be closed between College and Nance Streets.
