Live Music and Performances
You don’t want to miss our live music and performance groups at the Rocktoberfest stage. The Rocktoberfest stage will be open from 10am to 7pm in Memorial Park. This year we’ll be featuring local dancers, polka and German traditional tunes, jazz music, rock and roll/variety, and hip-hop soul!
Our authentic German Biergarten will feature a variety of domestic and German beers. Be sure to visit the Biergarten tent in front on Community Hall on the corner of Main and Caldwell Streets.
***Those over 21 who wish to purchase and consume alcohol in the event area must have their ID checked and wear a wristband from one of our approved event vendors.***
Liver Nips Cook-Off
The Chamber of Commerce Annual Liver Nips Cook-Off will take place near the historic Community Hall at 11:30am. The contest is open to the first 12 participants who register. There is no entry fee. Come see these talented cooks battle to see who will be the Liver Nips Champion of 2014. Stop by the food court by Community Hall near the Rocktoberfest Stage to try some wonderful authentic German cuisine, BBQ, and American fare from local and visiting restaurants and vendors. There you’ll find everything from bratwurst and crepes to corn dogs and kraut.
Handmade Art & Craft Vendors
Over 30 art and craft vendors have been hand selected to sell and show their goods and wares at the Newberry Oktoberfest! You can find paintings, pottery, handmade soaps, jewelry and more along Main and Boyce Streets. Click here for a full listing.
Kindertown- Brought to you by the Newberry County Memorial Hospital
The Newberry Oktoberfest has plenty for the kids and family to do. Kindertown will feature vendors selling toys, children's clothes, and more, inflatable bounce houses and slides, train rides, Lowes kids craft area, Old Fashioned Ice Cream, and Kettle Corn! Kindertown is located in the County Courthouse parking lot and Astwood Park. Also be sure to take your tots to visit the Newberry Hospital booth, featuring a variety of activities from kids yoga to sidewalk chalk art! Click here for a full listing of Kindertown vendors!
Grow Newberry Farmers Market
You can also find the Mini-Farmers Market in Kindertown. Local farmers will be selling a variety of fall produce such as pumpkins, fresh honey, squash, nuts, fall fruits, and greens.
The Columbia Marionette Theatre will perform at the historic Ritz Theater. This year's show "Professor Brainstorm's Brilliant Idea" will be running at 11am, 12:30pm, and 2pm and is free to all who attend.
Gametruck Video Games
The Gametruck of Columbia video game truck will feature free video games for kids of all ages. Look for the game truck near the Newberry County Courthouse in Kindertown.
The Newberry Car Buffs' Classic Cars will be on display next to Memorial Park by the Rocktoberfest Stage.
Newberry Opera House Tours
Free tours of the Newberry Opera House will be available during Oktoberfest. The Newberry Opera House is located on the corner of Boyce and McKibben Streets.

The Newberry Oktoberfest is FREE. There is no charge for the live entertainment or the kids' activities!
Parking and Directions
There is plenty of free public parking around the festival area. Parking will not be allowed in closed street areas, and those who dismiss this rule will be towed by local law enforcement at the owner's expense. The City of Newberry is conveniently located 4 miles off I-26 at exit 76, between Columbia and Greenville/Spartanburg. If you want to chart your course, enter this address in your favorite online mapping site: 1109 Main
Service animals are allowed. For the safety of our event patrons we recommend that large dogs not be brought to the event. Due to the high volume of foot traffic we also recommend that small dogs are not brought to the event. We don't want them getting stepped on!There is currently not a ban on bringing dogs. If they are brought they should be leashed and muzzled as necessary, and owners are responsible for cleaning up dog waste.
Special Traffic Information
Due to the large number of vendors and event patrons street closures are necessary on October 4th from the hours of 4am until 7pm. Main Street will be closed between Holman and Nance Streets. College Street will be closed between Friend and Boyce Streets. Boyce Street will be closed between College and Nance Streets.
