The area's primary health care center is Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) provides general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients. As a 90-bed acute and 12-bed sub-acute community hospital, NCMH offers a broad spectrum of care and services. The hospital has over 50 physicians on its medical staff and employs approximately 489 people.

In 2002, NCMH completed a $13.4 million renovation and expansion project creating a customer-friendly outpatient medical mall on the first floor. Since that major renovation, the hospital has not slowed down. A satellite office was opened in Little Mountain in 2003.

The birthing unit New Beginnings was expanded and completely renovated in 2004. In 2007 another major renovation and expansion was completed, which includes a new and much larger laboratory area, surgical dressing rooms, pediatric rooms, obstetrical OR in New Beginnings and other minor renovations. And in 2008, the hospital opened a new medical office building, the Atrium Center, which also includes a new and expanded Wellness Center.
